Fusion Technology uses multi-metals, combining a stainless steel body and sole with Metal Injection Molded (MIM), high-density weights to maximize perimeter weighting for a higher moment of inertia (MOI) with an optimized center of gravity (CG). The result is high, strong trajectories that fly farther and land softer.

VFT Technology
A new, aggressive advancement of Callaway's tried and true VFT technology provides increased ball speeds across the entire face--resulting in hotter distance with even more consistency. The face is thicker in the center and ultra-thin around the edges, which allows more energy from the impact of the clubface to be transferred to the ball.

 Shorter distance than other hybrids, By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Callaway FT-iZ Hybrid (Sports) I bought the 3 and 5 of these hybrids during the off-season last year. After using them for the first couple months of the 2011 season I was finding the distance lacking. I hit a 3-iron about 215 and was expecting a little more than that from the 3 hybrid - but was getting <200. I also didn't find the club-head contact great either from the fairway or the rough. Mid-season I replaced these with 3 and 4 Taylor Made hybrids which I like much better. I have loved all my other Callaway equipment, but these hybrids didn't really work for me.
