The ultimate high-launch/low-spin fairway wood, the Cleveland HiBore 5 wood goes farther and straighter than ever before. The club sports Cleveland's unique HiBore geometry, which is designed to lower and deepen the center of gravity (CG) as compared to traditional-shaped fairway woods. This optimized CG location aligns the center of gravity projection with the COR hot spot in the center of the face, resulting in a maximum energy transfer that produces a greater overall distance. To further boost the power, Cleveland added 57 grams of discretionary weight to the perimeter of the clubhead, creating an extremely high moment of inertia (MOI). And golfers will love the inverted crown and the 10 percent larger face area, which is far more forgiving on mis-hits. As compared to most woods, HiBore fairway woods launch the ball higher but with little spin, resulting in a more penetrating ball flight that reaches its apex fast and carries far. This trajectory is superior to other leading clubs, which generally start low but balloon high, leading to a loss of distance off the tee. Other details include a sturdy graphite shaft and a 19-degree loft angle. All Cleveland clubs offer a one-year warranty.

Summary: Impressive Appearance, Feel, & Results 2007-04-17
Comment: I own the 3W & 5W versions. Both of these fairway woods feel and look solid and streamlined, and, more importantly, produce impressive results from the fairway, light rough, and off the tee. I also own the Hi-Bore hybrid 2i, 3i, & 4i clubs, which have a similar look and feel to the fairway woods. Each of the hybrids is so much easier to use than its long-iron counterpart. The Hi Bore fairway woods and hybrids will enable you to achieve good distance and accuracy with all of your long shots and will make an attractive addition to your bag of playing clubs.
