Product Description

Nickent spent over one year to develop the next generation of state-of-the-art hybrids. Three different multi-material combinations were tried to find the best possible performance. In the end, Nickent developed the first hybrid to utilize a patented brazing technology that fuses a titanium crown with a steel body; all while making the crown the thinnest it has ever been on a golf club head. The 4DX IW is an iron replacement club that has 16 different lofts, one club every 1.5 degrees from 14° to 29°. This hybrid system allows the golfer to attain the optimum distance control and trajectory. With this new system, there will be no distance gaps in your bag and no confusion on what club your hybrid actually replaces. To help the consumer better understand which club to purchase, Nickent says that picking between the 4DX IW and 4DX UT is as simple as asking yourself what club you would choose to hit from 175 yards. If the answer is an iron, you most likely will enjoy the more compact head of the 4DX IW. If the answer is a fairway wood, you most likely will enjoy the higher ball flight of the 4DX UT.

Customer Rating: 5 Star
Summary: perhaps the perfect hybrid 2007-08-21
Comment: My first 4dx Ironwood was a 2-hybrid. I kept a 4 and a 6 Cobra Baffler in the bag. To my amazement, I produced better shots with the "harder to hit" 2 hybrid than I produced with the sturdy Cobras. Why? The ball comes off the 4dx with a much more boring, low-trajectory flight. Wind is much, much less a factor. Now, the 4dx does not have as much bulge in the face as the Baffler, so mis-hits do not straighten out as much. The upside of that is you CAN hit consistent draws with the 4dx, whereas the "easier-to-hit" hybrids straighten out all but the most strenuous attempts to play a draw. The shafts [if you get the UST V2] are the best out there, bar none. The Nickent 4dx is a wonderful club off most lies you'll encounter. Buy them, and put up with all the extra distance and shot-making playability you'll be getting.
