I was using a senior flex (i'm 67) extra length driver due to a slow swing speed. I bought this with a regular shaft. Once I figured out what I had to do, or rather what I shouldn't do, after taking it to the range, it worked better than expected. Every time I put more power into my swing, I couldn't control the ball. Using my same old slow swing without extra effort, the ball was down the middle every time about 20-25 yards further than my old Driver ( an old Taylor Made 360 Ti). The first time I tried a Nike SQ Dymo 2, from a friend on the course, I had to have one. I tried it three times using my same tired swing and it was straight and true each time. I've tried other drivers while golfing with friends (they're always getting new stuff) but nothing was better than my Taylor Made 360, for me, until I tried the Nike Sq Dymo 2. This is a very forgiving club as long as you don't over swing.
The adjustment capability could be a big help for some. I was using a hand me-down taylor made driver that is in good condition since it was rarely used (my grandfather upgraded) and I was averaging about 240 off the tee with the taylor made, with some shots reaching the 270-280. With this driver, 240 is a short drive! The last 18 I played (July 4th weekend) I hit over 300 yards, 5 times, even driving the green on a 299 yard par 4. I was like a kid at Christmas time opening a new present when I had to drive over 300 yards to my drive. I would say my average drive with this club is 260-270 range. I have been told I have massive club head speed and this driver was suggested by one of my avid golf buddies, and I am glad he suggested it! He use to out drive me more-times than not, but I out-drive him every time (he may be regretting losing the pissing contest although he usually beats me by 4-6 strokes). I will be purchasing the Nike Fairway wood soon. This review is from: Nike SQ Dymo 2 STR8-FIT Driver (460cc) The Nike SQ Dymo 2 was a Godsend. I upgraded to this driver from a fairly old generic one that I could never hit straight or long. Every shot off the tee with my old club would slice, and it left me disappointed and frustrated. I knew I needed to change my long game or I was never going to progress.
After a few practice shots with this club at the store, I knew I had to have it - ESPECIALLY at the price it is at now (~$450 off of the original retail). The Nike SQ Dymo 2 has a huge sweet spot and is insanely forgiving even when trying to muscle the ball off the tee. Most shots are dead straight and LONG - even when hit on the toe or heel of the clubhead. I now have confidence I need every time I address the ball with this club on the Tee box knowing that the ball is gonna go straight and long. This club totally revamped my game, and is the best purchase I've made on my golf game. For the price this club is at now, you would be crazy to not at least try it. |
