The Nike SQ Machspeed iron set combines a radical new design with a hot, thin alloy face, making these the fastest Nike irons ever produced. SQ Machspeed irons are made using a unique off-the-face weld construction. This design creates a hot center area on the stainless alloy face, but also expands the hotness to lower on the face where the ball is more likely to be in contact. The resulting sweet spot is wide and forgiving, so you can approach the green with power and touch. Nike also added its PowerBow weighting system, which repositions 50 grams of weight out and to the back of the clubs. This extremely deep center of gravity helps golfers launch soaring shots that travel far and land softly. Add in a forged carbon steel body and your choice of graphite or steel shafts and the resulting combination is one of explosive distance and optimum ball flight.
The SQ Machspeed set comes with all the irons you need for an afternoon on the course, including a 4-iron, 5-iron, 6-iron, 7-iron, 8-iron, and 9-iron, along with a pitching wedge and approach wedge.

The club head on my 4 iron flew off the shaft on my third swing while trying them at the Clubworks golf range. Clubworks found the club head after two days of searching for it and repaired the 4 iron. I played my eleventh game with these clubs this past Sunday. On the 9th hole the club head flew off the shaft on my 5 iron. The quality of these clubs are terrible!
I wrote to Mr. Athanasakos of Nike to make him aware of the problem I had with my 4 iron. My letter was not responded to. After the problem I had with my 5 iron I tried to return my clubs to Clubworks for a refund. They would not accept them even though there is a clear defect with these clubs. The best Clubworks said they would do is send them to Nike for repair. Nike makes nice commercials but incredibly poor products. You can definitely feel the difference between these and the cheaper sets. Now we just have to replace his cheap woods, and hope Amazon puts a women's set on sale soon! |
